Airtel To Bring Facebook On Mobile Phones In Five Languages

Airtel, for the first time, would introduce the access of social networking site Facebook in five different languagesincluding Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam in mobile phones to its subscribers. Initially, the company would offer Facebook in Hindi and English. “Our mobile customers will also be the first in the world to enjoy Facebook on their Airtel mobile in five vernacular languages. All these reiterate our commitment to customers to offer the best value-for-money services that enable their lifestyles,” said Bharti Airtel, CMO (Mobile Services), Shireesh Joshi. The telecom major is also offering Facebook usage for free of cost for two months. The company said its subscribers would be offered Facebook access till August 31 completely free of cost. "For the two-month period, the partnership enables Airtel customers to access Facebook’s full mobile site faster and at no data cost from their Airtel mobiles via m.facebook.com," said an Airtel statement. Nokia Launches 3 New Social Networking Mobile Phones

Nokia announced that they are launching 3 new social networking mobile phones at their Everyone Connect Event in London recently. Nokia has launched the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5. All three of which run on the Symbian platform and support multiple email accounts, instant messaging and social networks. The Nokia C3 will be based on Symbian Series 40, and is the first full QWERTY messaging phone in that series. It will have access to Facebook, Twitter and other major social networks, right on the homescreen. It will also include Ovi Mail, Ovi Chat, Wi-Fi, a 2-megapixel camera, and a 2.4-inch screen. Intex Launches IN 6633 for Rs. 4500 in India

Intex has announced the launch of a new dual sim phone IN 6633 in India. It features a QWERTY Keypad, Wi-fi and dual camera (front and back) for face to face video chatting, a feature expected to be widely used once 3G services become a common thing in India. The Intex IN 6633 makes use of Nimbuzz to help user connect to various social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, as well as for chatting purposes.
